What This Is About

Look, we know privacy policies can be boring, but we'll try to keep this simple. When you use our website to book Pooja, reserve Annadanam, or sign up as a volunteer, we collect some information about you. This page explains what we collect and why.

By using our site, you're okay with how we handle your info as described here. If you're not comfortable with something, please let us know before you continue using the site.

What We Collect

Stuff You Tell Us

When you book something or create an account, you give us:

• Your name, spouse's name, kids' names
• Email and phone number
• Nakshatram and Gothram (for the pooja)
• Payment details - UTR number and transaction info
• Booking info - which date, which session, how many people
• Login details - we encrypt your password, obviously

Stuff We Collect Automatically

Pretty standard website stuff:

• Your IP address and what browser you're using
• Your device type (phone, laptop, whatever)
• Which pages you visited and for how long
• How you found us (Google search, another site, etc.)
• When you visited

What We Do With It

We use your info to actually provide the services you came here for:

• Process your bookings
• Send you confirmation emails with QR codes
• Keep your account working
• Make sure your payments went through
• Answer your questions when you contact us
• Stop fraudsters and keep things secure
• Figure out what's working on the site and what's not
• Manage temple events and attendance
• Follow the law when we have to

The QR Code Thing

When you book a Pooja or Annadanam slot, we make a QR code for you. It's got your booking ID and a random token in it. We use it when you show up at the temple to:

• Check that your booking is legit
• Mark you as present
• Stop people from making fake bookings

The QR code itself doesn't have all your personal details in it - just the booking ID and token. Only our temple admins can scan it and see your full booking info in the system.

Who Else Sees Your Info

We don't sell your data. Period. We only share it when we have to:

• Service providers who help run the website (email service, database, etc.) - they're not allowed to use your info for anything else
• If the law requires it - court orders, legal stuff
• To protect the temple and other devotees from harm
• Temple admins and volunteers who need it to do their job

Security

We try our best to keep your info safe:

• Passwords and payment info are encrypted
• Everything goes through HTTPS (that's the lock icon in your browser)
• We keep our systems updated
• Only certain people can access admin stuff
• Data is stored securely on Supabase

But honestly, nothing online is 100% foolproof. We do what we can, but can't promise it's impossible for something to go wrong.

How Long We Keep It

We keep different things for different amounts of time:

• Booking records - we keep these for historical records
• Your account - as long as you're using it
• Payment stuff - for taxes and accounting
• Support messages - to track quality and help improve service

Want us to delete your account? Just ask. We'll do it unless there's some legal reason we need to keep certain records.

What You Can Do

You've got some rights here:

• Ask to see what info we have on you
• Tell us to fix something if it's wrong
• Ask us to delete your stuff
• Say you don't want us using your info a certain way
• Get a copy to take somewhere else
• Change your mind about stuff you agreed to before

Cookies

Yeah, we use cookies. They're tiny files that help us:

• Keep you logged in between pages
• Remember your settings
• See how people are using the site
• Keep bots and hackers out

You can turn off cookies in your browser if you want, but some stuff might not work right.

Third-Party Stuff

We use some other services to make the website work:

• Supabase - handles our database and logins
• Google Gemini AI - powers the chatbot
• QR Code generator - makes your booking QR codes
• Email service - sends you confirmations

Each of these has their own privacy policy. Feel free to check those out if you want.

Kids

This site isn't for kids under 13. We don't intentionally collect info from children. If you're a parent and think your kid somehow signed up, let us know and we'll delete everything.

Getting Blocked

We might block you if you:

• Keep making duplicate bookings
• Book slots and never show up
• Try to game the system or commit fraud
• Act like a jerk to volunteers or staff
• Lie in your booking details

Updates

We might update this policy sometimes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top and post it here. Check back once in a while if you care about this stuff.
